WHAT IS HIGH DEFINITION HD-Tvi CCTV?
High Definition – Transport Video Interface (HD-TVI) CCTV is a progression from analogue standard definition (SD-CCTV) and high definition Serial Digital Interface CCTV (HD-SDI-CCTV). HDTVI waa developed by a Company by the name of Techpoint with Head Offices located in Japn, China and USA. Additionally they have branch offices in Taiwan & Korea.
The technology was adopted by a multitude of security surveillance manufacturers such as Hikvision, AVTech, IDIS, TVT, and hundreds of others.
HD-TVI CCTV is positioned between HDSDI and Mega pixel IP-CCTV.
High definition images can be transmitted up to distances of up to 500m over existing low cost cables.
So the main advantage is that the HD signal can be carried over conventional coaxial cable (RG 59) meaning that full re-cabling of a site can be avoided. (With IP-CCTV all cabling must be replaced with CAT5e/ CAT6 Network cable or adapters used)
